Jessie James, which featured Wanted as a top single within the Top 40 Singles Charts was moderately well-received. Decker has always considered herself as a singer from the country genre however, the album's promotion and production was designed to appeal to an audience that was more popular. Two more singles off the album, Decker struggled with the label's executives to have more control over her music, and the next track Boys in the Summer was more of a country-centric release. The second album of Decker, dubbed as Daughter of a Gypsy and Sweet American Dreams by Mercury Records, was canceled after Mercury noticed the weak performance of three of Decker's singles on country radio charts.
